Best Hotels in Labuan Bajo (2025 Guide)

A smiling woman in a white top and pink skirt excitedly points at a rustic beachfront bungalow surrounded by palm trees, under bright blue skies. The setting features a sandy path, coconut trees, and a thatched-roof hut with a cozy, natural vibe.

The Best Hotels in Labuan Bajo

So, you’re planning a trip to Flores, Indonesia, and you want to stay at one of the Best Hotels in Labuan Bajo?

I get it! It might be a small town, but Labuan Bajo has almost too many options when it comes to beautiful accommodations. Basically, there’s everything here, from budget hostel stays to 5-star resorts and even over-water bungalows that rival the Maldives.

When we visited, we knew choosing the right hotel was the difference between a dreamy adventure and getting a travel logistics headache. All in all, I wanted something close to the action (hello, Komodo National Park!), not too far from food and preferably with a view that would make everyone at home jealous! 😅

In this guide, we’ve rounded up the best hotels in Labuan Bajo, aka the ones that are *actually* worth booking.

Let’s get into it! ✨

How We Chose These Labuan Bajo Hotels

When we travelled to Flores, Indonesia, we were in and out of Labuan Bajo 3 separate times, and we looked for something different on each visit.

  1. A budget-friendly but nice accommodation in the heart of town
  2. A unique private island escape
  3. A luxurious 5-star stunner to cap off a wild adventure.

So, with that in mind, here’s how we narrowed down this list:

📍 Location: We looked at proximity to Komodo tours, restaurants, beaches, and ease of access (no one wants a 30-minute hike to breakfast).

🛏️ Accommodation Quality: Rooms that are clean, comfortable, and ideally… photogenic. Pools, sea views, and good Wi-Fi scored bonus points.

⭐ Guest Reviews: We combed through Booking.com, Google Reviews and Instagram to find places consistently loved by real guests.

💸 Value for Money: Whether budget or bougie, each hotel offers something that makes the price tag worth it!

A Bit About Labuan Bajo

I realise some of you may be early on in your planning for a trip to Flores, Indonesia. So, I thought it might be helpful to give you some quick-fire info about Labuan Bajo and Flores as a whole!

Flores is part of Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara region and is best known as the gateway to Komodo National Park, home of the world-famous Komodo dragons. But that’s just the beginning. You can also hike volcanoes with colour-changing crater lakes (yes, really), visit archaeological sites where real-life ‘hobbits’ were discovered, or snorkel alongside giant manta rays in some of the clearest water we’ve ever seen.

Labuan Bajo is the main hub for all of this. It’s a small town on the western tip of Flores, but it punches way above its weight when it comes to epic experiences. This is where most tours depart, most visitors stay, and where you’ll find everything from sunset bars and fresh seafood restaurants to dive shops and day cruises.

For the other visual learners, here is a map with each of the hotels pinned!

Final Thoughts on the Best Hotels in Labuan Bajo

Whether you’re here to explore Komodo National Park, relax on a private island, or just catch the sunset with a cold Bintang in hand, picking the right hotel in Labuan Bajo can seriously elevate your trip. This town might be small, but the hostel to luxury hotels scene is anything but!
